The journey begins when a twelve year old Paul Goodyear buys his first disco record, "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" by the late disco sensation Sylvester. He had found the "love" in his life. It was music. Since then the list of achievements within the dance music industry just keep growing. He is a talented and well-recognised DJ, re-mixer, producer and now also an independent record label owner. Being born in the UK, raised in Australia, and working regularly in the US and Asia, Paul brings an international flavor to his sound. He revels in all aspects of his job. He is equally comfortable playing in an intimate local bar as he is playing for 20,000 people in a football stadium or at an international party event, mentoring up and coming dance music talent or remixing for artists such as Whitney Houston and Deborah Cooper.
Paul started his career at the Flinders Hotel, a bar in Sydney's Darlinghurst when he was not yet old enough to be in the premises legally. Since then he has been a musical fixture in Australia for over two decades, including owning and operating Ace DJ remix service, remixing for many local and international labels, producing up and coming Australian and New Zealand artists while working his many residencies (including ARQ, Mars Lounge, Frisky and Home). His studio work has yielded many chart successes including two US Top 10 Billboard positions and both New Zealand's and Australia's number one dance spot on numerous occasions. Even though he has recently settled in London, Paul has just returned to London after headlining at the Sydney Mardi Gras 2007. This continues a tradition of performances starting with the infamous Rat and Bacchanalia parties of Sydney's "Summers of Love" in 1988 & 1989 and moving through to recent years with a number of significant parties including regular performances at Sydney Mardi Gras and Sleaze, Nation Singapore, and the Pines Party on Fire Island.
While on the decks, it doesn't matter if the audience are gay, straight, mixed, peaktime or recovery party, as he gives from the soul to each clubber. The recent move back to London was in order to increase the profile and distribution of his record label TomCat Music, which was launched last year on music download site www.Beatport.com. Always busy he has already started spinning at the club "XXL" while putting the finishing touches to the long anticipated Paul Goodyear Project Album. For this album he has collaborated with the best in the industry including Love Tattoo, Wayne G, Nathan G, Shauna Jensen, Carol Jiani and Paul Parker. Some of these projects have already been picked up for release on European compilations. Other recent releases include the new Love Tattoo album "Bodywork", on which Paul has co-written and co-produced 5 tracks and Central Station Records 30th Anniversary Mixed CD on which Paul was selected to showcase Sydney's Oxford Street of the 1970s and 1980s.
