| Twisting together the edges of indie electro, synth-punk and deep trip-hop, The Black Pandas have developed a warm futuristic sound that has hipsters gathering in the street to hear more. After touring the globe in previous bands, The Black Pandas became inseparable and started recording on their own. Female vocalist Sha Sabi plays a small arsenal of synths, effects boxes, and other toys while drummer Rico Dali plays an acoustic kit tailored with electronic triggers. The result is the full, intense sound of the "Ghetto Kool-Aid" EP which the band debuted in a series of European tour dates this spring. The band is now back in San Francisco to finish their full-length and is joined by longtime friend and bassist/synth wizard J. Dumont for a series of U.S. shows followed by a second European tour in Fall 2009. |
